GOAT GUARDIAN VOLUNTEERING

Goat Guardian Care Crew

Picture
We offer a variety of volunteer positions at the Old Goats Home & Rescue including basic farm chores within each wing of OGH, visitor programs, event assistance, and community outreach.
Opportunities vary depending on the time of year and the needs of both our goat guardians and team as a whole.  OGH offers monthly support parties, company support parties and private group support parties. Please see further details below.
The minimum age for volunteering is 13. All minors (ages 13-17) must also be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and some activity restrictions apply.  All Volunteers and Visitors must sign a waiver and receive a tour of the Sanctuary before starting as a Goat Guardian Care Crew Member.
Morning shift is 9am to 11am
Afternoon shift if 1pm to 3pm (later in the summer months)
Please note we have a limited amount of Goat Guardian spots available so we can keep up with continuity of care of the individuals that reside at OGH.

If you are a student wanting to get your volunteer hours in, please email directly to [email protected]

OGH Monthly Support Parties:
A Positive Way to Make a Difference

Our monthly support parties offer community members a chance to connect, contribute, and learn. These gatherings provide a fun and uplifting environment where participants can:

  1. Meet Compassionate Individuals: Connect with like-minded people who share a passion for animal welfare.
  2. Pitch In: Roll up your sleeves ( it's hard work, but there's something for every level of ability)  and participate in farm chores and projects. From barn cleaning to grounds maintenance, every task contributes to the smooth operation of the Old Goats Home.
  3. Spend Time with Rescued Farm Animals: Get up close and personal with our beloved animal residents (on their terms). Their stories inspire us to protect and care for them.
  4. Learn About Our Mission: Discover more about OGH and our ongoing efforts to prevent animal abuse.
  5. Support Education and Advocacy: By attending, you directly contribute to the success of our educational programs and advocacy initiatives.

While the chores may not always be glamorous, they play a crucial role in our daily mission of rescue, protection, and care for farm animals in need. Each month, we assess our most urgent needs and tailor our projects accordingly.
What to Expect:

  • Volunteer Time: Join us for a rewarding day of service.
  • Sanctuary Tour: Explore our facilities and learn about our residents.

Please note that participants must be 18 years or older to take part in these meaningful gatherings. We look forward to having you join us!
