Welcome to OGH, Where Sheep Find Hope and Friendship
At OGH, our eight sheep form a close-knit family, many of them related by blood. Let us introduce you to some of our remarkable woolly residents
Petal - At the grand age of 19, Petal is our seasoned matriarch. She has faced challenges head-on, including battling lady part cancer for the past two years. As time took its toll, Petal’s eyesight began to fade, leaving her almost completely blind. But fear not—our dedicated Goat Guardians have worked tirelessly to teach her sounds and guide her safely around the breakfast area. When the flock moves, Petal is reunited with her cherished sheep companions.
Wiggy - Wiggy, our first baby lamb, had a rocky start—he was rejected by his mother at birth. To ensure Wiggy had a friend, we welcomed his little cousin, Piggy, along with two goats. Piggy and Wiggy spent four happy years together. But fate had more surprises in store. The former guardian of Piggy and Wiggy offered us a chance to adopt Wiggy’s mother, Spot, and her best friend, Kora. Little did we know that both mothers were pregnant! Soon, Minke was born to Kora. We held our breath during Spot’s labor, hoping for a smooth delivery. Sadly, Spot’s baby, Orca, passed away before the vet could intervene.
Baluga - Our story takes an unexpected turn when we received a call from a farm that breeds sheep for meat. Two newborns needed urgent care—one struggling and the other without a mother’s milk. We rushed to their aid. The farm planned to euthanize the mother, deeming her useless due to her inability to nurse. We couldn’t bear it. So, we brought all three home. Although little Binky didn’t survive, Baluga stood strong. Baluga became Minke’s steadfast companion, and together, they thrived.
At OGH, we celebrate resilience, compassion, and the unbreakable bonds that form among our sheep. Join us in supporting these remarkable creatures as they navigate life’s twists and turns.
