The Old Goats Home is a place built on Love & Acceptance for all.

OGH'S Home base is on the tiny island of Vashon in Washington State. The only way on or off the island is via a ferry ride which many of our 389 residents have taken.  The heart of the sanctuary is on 7.5 acres, but we also have 22 acres of pasture that is utilized to rest the sanctuary grounds in the warmer months. OGH is home to goats, chickens, horses, donkeys, bunnies, geese, hens, ducks and turkeys all treated as individual rescue babes, with individualized care from the day they arrive, to the day they cross rainbow bridge.

How Can You Help?

At OGH we want you to know we are comitted to the lifelong individualized care of each and every rescue babe that calls OGH home. From their thorough health and wellness checks on surrender to making sure their every need is met where possible.

​​Our Approach to Animal Care

Comprehensive Assessment: We thoroughly evaluate likes, dislikes, and medical conditions based on surrender information and medical records. Understanding their personality traits and favorite foods helps us anticipate potential health issues.
  1. Tailored Nutrition: We provide species-appropriate food, enriched with preventive healthcare herbs and tinctures specific to each rescue animal’s local environment.
  2. Expert Veterinary Care: Our skilled veterinary team specializes in both ruminant and small/exotic animals. They collaborate to deliver top-notch care whenever needed.
  3. Thoughtful Placement: Each individual is placed based on personality, size, age, breed, and specific needs. No animal is overlooked due to hierarchy; we ensure a calm environment for all.
  4. Holistic and Western Practices: We combine holistic and western medicine approaches to maintain balance and enhance the quality of life as our rescue animals age.​
